Enjoying the pool

Some days, we went to the pool instead of (or in addition to!) the beach.
Emmeline loved floating around in the water, or just chilling under an umbrella.

And Atticus had a blast playing in the kiddie pool and the "water playground."

All that play can make you pretty hungry and thirsty. Ahhh, sweet nectar of the gods!

That tastes gooooood.

What do you mean I'm not old enough to drink?!?

(Note: no children were inebriated in the creation of these photographs. The beer was actually closed the whole time.)

Enjoying the beach

Have you ever tried to get four adults and five children ages 6 weeks to 6 years a few hundred feet from a condo to the beach? It took more time and effort (and STUFF!) than you might imagine...

But at last we were there! Some of us dove right into making sandcastles.

And some of us snoozed in the shade.

Then we all enjoyed the ocean in our own ways.

Off on an adventure!

Last month (yes, Mom's WAY behind), we all went on a trip to the beach! That meant flying on airplanes. First we got a snack at the airport.

Then we waited patiently for our turn to get on the plane.

We found a cool place to play, and I had a great time jumping and sliding and running.

But then Dad said it was time to go. Awww, c'mon Dad.

Finally we were on the plane. I happily hung out with Dad,

while Emmeline acted like she'd flown a hundred times before!

At last, we arrived in Florida. Hurrah!

Who loves bathtime?

Emmeline does!

Especially when we get her all washed up so she can gnaw on her clean toes!

Bedtime silliness

The other night at bedtime, I decided (all on my own!) that it'd be fun to get under the rug.

See, comfy and ready for sleep!

But then I decided I wanted company, so I asked Daddy to join me.

He happily obliged. And we enjoyed some silly time together before I went to sleep.

Yummy watermelon

One of the joys of summer. Mommy showed me how to eat it.

And then Daddy coached me through my first bites.

Ooooh, juicy!

Fierce.

Uncle Adam and Aunt Amy gave me this awesome romper. Don't I look great in animal print?

Happy Meal Times

Atticus and Emmeline enjoy sharing dinnertime together. Atticus sits in his booster at the end of the table,

and Emmeline sits in her Bumbo facing him.

And they share lots of smiles and giggles!

Corn Hill Festival Fun

The Corn Hill Festival happens right in our back yard. Better even than the funnel cake stand at the end of our street was the gigantic bounce house down the block!

I was a little nervous of the huge slide. It's a good thing Mom was there with me.

What fun!

And the second best part was the food. I had my first corn dog. Yumm!
